During the West Pacific Regional Championships last week in Vanuatu, the ITF Development Officer-Pacific Oceania (Gary Purcell) held a Parents’ Workshop. This Optimal Competition Parenting Workshop provided a background for parents to support their children and how to optimise their involvement in competition settings. There is a course available in the ITF Academy ITF ACADEMY entitled Optimal Competition Parenting in Tennis: An Introduction
The course will allow you to know more about the role parents play in children’s tennis participation and development, differences between the different types of parental involvement and support and how to create an environment that maintains your child’s motivation.
