Australian Open 14 & Under Asia-Pacific Elite Trophy

22–24 January 2025 | Melbourne, Australia

The 2025 Australian Open Asia-Pacific Elite 14 & Under Trophy was held in Melbourne, Australia, from 22 to 24 January 2025, in conjunction with the Australian Open. The event brought together sixteen junior players from eleven Asia-Pacific nations and was directed by David Boyes, with David Vernon serving as Referee.

Pacific Oceania was represented by Uraia Ratu of Fiji and Alalilo Tepa of Tuvalu, under the guidance of coaches Ruby Coffin (Fiji) and Eddie Mera (Papua New Guinea). Both players competed with determination against top-level opponents from Australia, Korea, India, and New Zealand, finishing eighth in their respective divisions.

In preparation for the tournament, the Pacific Oceania players participated in several Australian junior events, including the Margaret Court Cup, the Albury Grass Court Championships, and the Wodonga Grass Court Tournament. These competitions provided valuable match practice and acclimatisation to local playing conditions.

The Melbourne event offered the players a rare opportunity to experience elite-level international tennis within the environment of the Australian Open. The exposure significantly contributed to their development, strengthening both their competitive confidence and understanding of the game at a professional standard.
