Carruthers struggled to get her serve working with 5 double faults and a 57% 1st serve percentage and was always under pressure from her higher ranked opponent winning only 24 of the 78 points in the match.<\/p>\n<p>Then in the crucial deciding doubles the Pacific Oceania team of Steffie Carruthers\/Abigail Tere-Apisah got off to the perfect start breaking their opponent&#8217;s opening serve but they couldn&#8217;t sustain this momentum eventually losing the match to their Philippine opponents Khim Iglupas\/Katharina Lehnert 64,63.
