All 3 boys, despite Sean Lee&#8217;s luggage being lost in transit and finally found, were in action in the first Tie against Cambodia winning 3-0. <br>The Pacific Oceania Junior Davis Cup continued their commanding form into Day 2\u00a0 again winning decisively with the team yet to drop a set. The Junior Davis Cup Team beat Turkmenistan 3-0 .As a result, the team won their Pool Event to put them into the Play Offs.<br> In the direct elimination the Pacific Oceania Junior Davis Cup Team were beaten 2-1 by 3<sup>rd<\/sup> seeds, Lebanon with Clement Mainguy winning his #1 Singles 6-1 3-6 6-4. In the deciding Doubles, they were beaten 4-6 7-6(1) 10-5 which then put them in the Play-Offs for 5<sup>th<\/sup>-8<sup>th<\/sup> positions. Subsequently, The Pacific Oceania Junior Davis Cup Team were beaten by Vietnam with only Clement Mainguy winning his singles in convincing fashion 61, 61\u00a0and then played off for 7th\/8th position which they lost to Turkmenistan 3-0 to finish in 8<sup>th<\/sup> place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2018<\/span><\/strong><br>In March 2018 the Pacific Oceania Junior Davis Cup Team of Clement Mainguy (VAN), Robbie Schorr (NMI), Ken Song (NMI) and Jeff Race (NMI-captain) Pacific Oceania Junior Team travelled to Colombo, Sri Lanka for the 2018 Junior Davis Cup, Asia\/Oceania Pre-Qualifying Event). There were 4 Pools with 14 Teams competing. \u00a0Pacific Oceania was top seeds in Pool A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oceaniatennis.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/d1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5120\" width=\"583\" height=\"437\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.oceaniatennis.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/d1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.oceaniatennis.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/d1-100x75.jpg 100w, https:\/\/www.oceaniatennis.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/d1-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.oceaniatennis.com\/newsite\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/d1-200x150.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 583px) 100vw, 583px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pacific Oceania Junior Cup Team topped their Pool\n&nbsp;without dropping a set. On the opening day of\nplay all 3 Pacific Oceania players were in play as they beat Lebanon 3-0;&nbsp;then\nthey followed this up by beating Bangladesh also 3-0. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result entered the next stage of the Play-Offs\nwhere Pacific Oceania played 5<sup>th<\/sup> seeds, Kuwait, in their\nquarter-final Tie. They were too strong for Kuwait, beating them 3-0. Robbie\nSchorr, in his first week on Clay, got Pacific Oceania off to the perfect start\nwinning the opening singles 6-2, 6-3. Then initially Clement Mainguy struggled\nto find his footing on the slippery surface before making the necessary\nadjustment to then win decisively 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 before Robbie Schorr and Ken\nSong won the doubles 6-3, 7-5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This now pitted the Pacific Oceania team against the 4th\nseeds Vietnam in the crucial semi-finals. The 16<sup>th<\/sup> March 2018 proved to be a historic day\nfor Pacific Oceania Junior T when the Junior Davis Cup Team of Clement Mainguy\n(VAN), Robbie Schorr (NMI), Ken Song (NMI) and Jeff Race (NMI-captain) won\ntheir semi-final Tie against Vietnam 2-1 to\nprogress to the Final against Pakistan but also to automatically progress (top\n2 teams progress) to the Asia\/Oceania Final Junior Davis Cup Qualifying Event\nlater in March from 26-31 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Robbie Schorr again got Pacific Oceania off to the perfect start winning his singles 6-3, 4-6,6-4 before #1 player, Clement Mainguy, secured Pacific Oceania\u2019s place by comfortably winning his singles 6-1,6-3. There was a slight change to the team with Jeremy Guines\nreplacing Ken Song. 16 Junior Boys Davis Cup Teams, including Pacific Oceania, competed\nin this Event on the hard courts at the Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association in\nKuching, Malaysia. The Pacific Oceania Team was Jeremy Guines (TAH), Clement\nMainguy (VAN), Robbie Schorr (NMI) and Captain Jeff Race (NMI). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pacific Oceania was drawn in the same pool as the top\nseeds, Japan who they played in their opening pool round. Pacific Oceania was\nconvincingly beaten 3-0. They then went on to meet 8<sup>th<\/sup> seeds,\nPhilippines, in their 2<sup>nd<\/sup> round pool match. Clement Mainguy, playing\nat #2, got the Tie off to the perfect start beating his opponent 3-6, 6-0, 6-2\nbut Jeremy Guines then lost his #1 singles match 6-2,6-2 and then lost the\ndeciding doubles with Robbie Schorr 6-1, 7-5 to lose the Tie 2-1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pacific Oceania Junior Davis Cup Team\nthen beat Singapore 2-1 in their final Round Robin Pool Match with Clement Mainguy\n(VAN)winning his 2nd singles match in consecutive days against his opponent\n6-1, 7-6(6). Jeremy Guines (TAH), playing at #1 had chances to win his singles\nmatch before eventually losing 6-4, 2-6, 4-6. In the deciding doubles the\npairing of Clement Mainguy (VAN)\/Robbie Schorr (NMI) beat their opponents 6-2,\n6-4. Pacific Oceania finished 3rd in their pool and then played Indonesia in\nthe play-offs for 9th-16th positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pacific Oceania Junior Davis Cup team\nthen lost a breath-taking Tie to Indonesia 2-1. Clement Mainguy again won his\nSingles in 2 hours 50 minutes beating his Indonesian opponent 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(1).\nThen Jeremy Guines lost his singles match in 2 hours 15 minutes 6-4, 1-6, 5-7.\nThe deciding Doubles was a thriller with the Pacific Oceania Team of Clement\nMainguy\/Robbie Schorr losing the deciding Match Tie-Break 19-21 to eventually\nlose the Doubles match 4-6, 6-2, (19-21). As a result Pacific Oceania then\nplayed Pakistan to decide 13th-16th places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pacific Oceania Junior Davis Cup Team were then beaten in the penultimate match 2-0 (Doubles not played)\u00a0by Pakistan to then again play Singapore in their final match for 15th\/16th place. The Pacific Oceania Junior Davis Cup Team then won their final match in Malaysia beating Singapore 2-1 and finished in 15th place. Jeremy Guines (TAH) was in commanding form beating his opponent 6-0, 6-1 in 45 minutes. He then combined with Clement Mainguy (VAN) to win their doubles 6-3, 7-6(0).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2017<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2017, 2 Pacific Oceania Junior Teams travelled to New Delhi, India to compete in the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Fed Cup. The Pacific Oceania Teams were:  Jeremy Guines (TAH);Clement Mainguy (VAN);Robbie Schoor (NMI);Jerome Rove (VAN)-captain <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pacific Oceania\nJunior Davis Cup Team was drawn into Pool B with the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> seeds,\nVietnam. The tie against Vietnam was lost 2-1 with&nbsp; #1 player, Clement Mainguy (VAN), securing\nthe only win being the #1 from Vietnam, Hoang Hung Vo 76(5), 26, 63. In the\nother Pool Match against Jordan, Pacific Oceania lost both singles matches\nbefore winning the dead doubles rubber with Clement Mainguy\/Jeremy Guines\nwinning 62, 61 against their opponents.
