There was no event held due to Covid -19<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2019<\/span><\/strong>
The # 1 Under 14 tennis player in the Pacific Oceania Region, Vaiani Dusserre-Valleaux (TAH), represented Pacific Oceania at the 6th WTA Future Stars event in Shenzhen, China. She was accompanied by her coach, Olivier Fabre (TAH).
The WTA Future Stars Programme\u2019s goal is to use tennis as a platform that encourages and inspires young girls all over the World to progress in the sport, to learn the importance of team work, discipline, living a healthy lifestyle and to build a stronger character that will help on and off the tennis court.
The Event was from Sunday 20th October to Monday 28th October 2019 and Vaiani competed against the best U 14 players from 23 countries representing Australia, Cambodia, Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, Great Britain, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pacific Oceania, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, USA, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

The format was a Short Set Round Robin Format to determine the single elimination Semi-Finals and Finals. There were4 groups of 7 players ( 6 Round Robin Matches per Player) with the best performing player in each group moving to the semi-finals. The WTA rules relating to calling their coach to court applied, as did Hawkeye electronic Line Calling.
 
This event also was the debut for the new Wilson \u201cTriniti\u201d eco-conscious Tennis Ball which is the first eco-conscious tennis ball which maintains its fresh ball feel 4 x longer than traditional Wilson tennis balls
Judy Murray held private sessions with the players as did former and current players Alicia Molik, Zheng Jie, Vania King, Casey Dellacqua, Nicole Melichar and Kvere Peschke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the Event, Vaiani won the 2019 Li Na Inspiration Award. She was seen to epitomize all the qualities of the award viz:

\u2013 Courage
\u2013 Desire to Learn
\u2013 Focused

2018<\/span><\/strong>
Two Pacific Oceania players competed in the WTA Future Stars Tournament in Singapore. Saoirse Breen (FIJI) competed in the U14s and Rosalie Molbaleh (VAN) in the U16s. The initial rounds were Round Robin with the pools as below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner from each group qualified for a single elimination draw for semi-finals and finals. Match scoring was the best of 3 sets with no-ad scoring in the first 2 sets and a 10 point tie-break as the 3rd set. This is a very strong event and was great experience for both Saoirse and Rosalie<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2017<\/span><\/strong>
Two Pacific Players, Saoirse Breen (FIJ) and Brookie\nMa’asi (TGA) competed respectively in the U14 and U16 WTA Future Stars\nEvent on the hard courts at the Kallang Tennis Centre in Singapore. Gilles de\nGouy (TAH) was their coach\/manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The format was a Round Robin with 4 groups of 6\nplayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner from each group will qualified for a single elimination draw for semi-finals and finals. Match scoring was the best of 3 sets with no-ad scoring in the first 2 sets and a 10 point tie-break as the 3rd set. In this Event on-Court Coaching was allowed as per WTA Procedures with both players welcoming  the assistance and input from Gilles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2016<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three Pacific Oceania players, Violet Apisah (PNG), Eleanor Schuster (SAM) and Vienna Kumar (FIJI)\u00a0played in the WTA Future Stars Event in October on the hard courts of the Kallang Tennis Centre in Singapore. Ian Honila (SI) was the accompanying coach.
Eleanor Schuster played in the U14 event and Violet Apisah and Vienna Kumar in the U16 event. All the participants were presented with participating medals <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, a draw size of 20 players,\u00a0was a round robin to determine Single Elimination Semi-Finals and Finals. Violet Apisah (PNG) ended up winning the WTA Future Stars Event-U16. Coming through pool play undefeated she played Keyl Zhou(CHN) in the Semi-Final Elimination which she won 75,75 before defeating Shivai Amineni(IND) in the final 75,64.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
