Pacific Games Spoils to New Caledonia and Cook Islands
The 2009 Pacific Mini Games Tennis event in Cook Islan ds has been completed with New Caledonia and hosts Cook Islands dominating the individual events.
New Caledonia took out the mens singles and doubles and the mixed doubles with Nickolas N'Godrela featuring in all three gold medal performances
Kairangi Vano dominated the women's individual events winning the singles and doubles and just missing out on bronze in the mixed doubles.
It was a great two weeks. Congratulations Tennis Cook Islands on staging an outstanding tournament.

Goodman Fielder ITF POJC Success
The Goodman Fielder ITF Pacific Oceania Junior Championships 2009 were completed at the Goodman Fielder International Regional Tennis Centre in Lautoka at the end of August. Read about the championship on the following page. Full results can also be found in the junior section.
The photo shows the four Goodman Fielder POJC champions with OTF Joint Secretary General John Shannon who presented the certificates on behalf of Goodman Fielder. The players are from left Ji Hoon Heo (NMI), Zinnia Leamana (SOL), Annie Shannon (FIJ) and Clement Coarraze (CAL).

Kubler Wins Asia/Oceania Title
After winning the Air Pacific Oceania Junior Championships in Lautoka in August Jason Kubler (AUS) has gone on to claim the Asia/Oceania Junior boys singles title in Korea.
In the final Kubler (pictured) outplayed Japan's Yasutako Uchiyama winning 62 64. Kubler has been in outstanding form over recent weeks winning the Osaka Mayors Cup Grade A event in Japan and the Thailand international.
Steffi Carruthers (SAM) and Abigail Tere-Apisah (PNG) put up an excellent showing in the girls doubles reaching the quarterfinals before losing to the top seeds and eventual champions 63 64.

ITF Play Tennis Course
The ITF hosted a PLay Tennis Course at the Goodman Fielder International Regional Tennis Centre in Lautoka, Fiji following the Oceania Junior Championships in August.
The picture shows the 25 coaches from around the Pacific with course faclitator Frank Couraud from the ITF Development Department in London in front.
The three day course was greatly enjoyed by the participants who will now go back to their countries to promote the "Play and Stay" and "Tennis10s" concepts.
